Perfect Pearls
  Welcome To Perfect Pearls!

We love for its simple, classic appeal.  Originally, pearls were worn only by the very wealthy, due to the rarity of perfect pearls.  They are created by oysters when a foreign particle gets inside the shell.  Then the oyster seals off the particle with numerous coats of "mother-of-pearl," the material that makes up the inside of the oyster's shell.  The result, over time, is a lovely round pearl.

Today, pearls are much more widely available due to the practice of cultivating pearls.  While natural pearls occur in nature, "by chance," humans have learned how to essentially force an oyster to create a pearl by inserting an irritant into the oyster.  Then the oyster proceeds to create a pearl just as it would in nature.  When this process first began, it was difficult to cultivate a perfectly round pearl.  However, in 1916 a discovery was made that allowed for the creation of perfectly round pearls.

Today, you can get beautiful for a lot less, thanks to the cultivation of pearls in captivity.  Thank goodness for technology! Now we can all enjoy the jewelry that was once reserved only for the wealthy.

Please feel free to browse around our site for lots of info about pearl necklaces, pearl earrings, and pearl bracelets!
